Could even make it more challenging by giving say more Specifications such as: write a comedy in New Eden, or write a story that includes the following subject. Keep the categories you have as free form and then maybe include some theme categories. Up to you, its all food for thought. But would like to see this contest happen again and soon. In a perfect world I'd like to see it be Quarterly, but I'd be happy with a Semi-annual. For a semi-annual I'd be more than happy to kick in isk prizes.

Ren K.the_desertpunkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14200627084875885628noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-153154495656983115.post-46871333801331821582012-12-04T17:19:00.321+00:002012-12-04T17:19:00.321+00:00That's an interesting idea, about writers taki...That's an interesting idea, about writers taking assignments on specific topics. CCP's Mercury, which is a division of the ISD Volunteer program, has writers who take writing assignments. I'm not sure exactly what they write about, but I think it includes writing EVElopedia entries, descriptions for in-game items, that kind of stuff. And probably the news items found on the Communications page. http://community.eveonline.com/news.asp Our contest judge CCP Eterne came out of Mercury, so he could give you more details. Here's the link to Mercury's page if anyone is interested. Obviously there has to be a screening process. But may be they say to a writer "How about writing on X" or "develop Y" Or a writer says "I'd like to do Z" I think it needs some encouragement but I'd be happy to take part.

Madouc d'Gamdis
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-153154495656983115.post-59257220105728886342012-12-04T15:08:01.578+00:002012-12-04T15:08:01.578+00:00Thanks for organizing and being the "faceman&...Thanks for organizing and being the "faceman" for this TS! It was fun to take ideas that have been churning through my head and forcing them down on paper (so to speak). Looking forward to the next time!

Random McNallyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-153154495656983115.post-60384258290069694342012-12-04T08:27:33.142+00:002012-12-04T08:27:33.142+00:00Absolutely! After reading all the entries I have to say the talent level for telling stories in the EVE community is far, far from lacking. Some of the best fan fiction I've ever had the pleasure to read came from this contest. I could care less whether my stories even place in the top ten. This contest got the creative juices out there flowing and I certainly hope you all keep writing. It was a pleasure to see such works from this community!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
